The Hellenic Union of Graphic Arts and Μedia Τechnology Engineers (Print-Media Engineers) - HELGRAMED, is the legal professional and scientific organization of the Graduates that hold a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree from a recognized Higher Education Institute (HEI) in the fields of Graphic Arts / Graphic Communication, Printing, Publishing, Packaging and Media Technology and Engineering. HELGRAMED is intensively active in achieving its goals and objectives in the interest of Print-Media / Graphic Arts Technology in Greece and abroad. The Union is quite active in important projects and events in Greece and abroad for the establishment of the profession and the scientific entity of the graduates. In addition, HELGRAMED is actively contributing in the evolution of the Printing, Media and Packaging Science, Education and Industries as whole, with particular interest to Human Capital development and welfare.

The Union has been established in 2013 and became a legal entity with the official registration Number 29980 of the Greek State in February 2014. HELGRAMED is the successor of the initially established “Hellenic Union of the Graphic and Decorative Arts Graduates”. Members in this Union were holders of a Bachelor degree on Graphic Arts Technology, Graphic Design and Decorative Αrts. This first Union has been legally established in 1981 and operated until 1991.

HELGRAMED has some 600 active members in a total of about 2000 Graphic Arts and Media Engineers that have graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts Technology of Athens TEI (first graduates in 1977).
The specific expertise of HELGRAMED through its board and its members, covers a wide range of activities and projects both at national and European levels in research for the continuous development of education and training at all levels of graphic communication and media technology.
In particular members of the Union is involved in various EU projects (CustomDP, SELEAC, OWLNet, Lean Manufacturing for Graphic Media, Energy Efficiency for graphic-media SMEs, Lean Manufacturing and Marketing for Graphic Media and EKFI project on learning material exchange platform for the Creative Industries).

HELGRAMED members are forming research teams which work on various R&D projects with other scientific organizations, companies and the industry. Among others, the projects include:
- Innovation in graphic media and packaging technology and management,
- Curricula development, learning environments and platforms, distance and e-learning projects, adult and workplace learning and blended learning for vocational training and higher/tertiary education.
- Development of Job profiles and occupational standards, development of competencies, evaluation and certification of competences in the fields of graphic communication, printing and media technology fields.
